An American amusement park company operates 27 properties throughout North America, including theme parks, amusement parks, water parks and a family entertainment center. While the team has been working on several projects for the corporation, one of the key projects was creating an integrated, cloud-based point-of-sale application to optimize sales and reporting across all their parks. It takes a lot of backend work to make this need a reality.
Using the companies current transaction system Appetize, the Ascendum dev team used several technologies and API calls to unify their food, beverage, and retail transactions. They also employed an AWS data lake and Boomi to help with their end-to-end integrations by grabbing data and passing it to all of the businesses downstream systems.
We developed processes that facilitated source to target communication allowing near real-time data transfer, increased data quality and eliminating application dependencies.
This increased agility greatly reduced the complexity of upgrading and allowed a methodic rollout by location..
